Angel's Challenge

At our Westside Thirst this week our wonderful and faithful server, Angel, challenged us to do one thing this coming month that represents God's will for your life.

We can use this forum to ask questions and share stories as we go about trying to meet Angel's challenge. Some questions to ponder: what is God's will? Does God have specific intentions for your life in particular? If so, how are God's will for the whole creation and God's will for your life related?

One more thing to help you on your journey, I share with you part of scripture I read today in my devotions. It made me think of our time together at Thirst, and so I paused to pray for you:

Colossians 1:9-14

For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.

Colossians 3:12-17

As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
